Helping non-profits bring supporters together.

Goal

Noticing the difficulties non-profit organisations would face when creating and managing their fundraising event websites, Pixo wanted to develop a platform that offered the unique functionality they required.

Answer

We designed and developed Evenico, a platform allowing organisers of diverse events to configure their websites with flexible ticketing options, peer-to-peer fundraising and merchandising.

Over time this grew to be more than just an event platform, and now can host a large range of supporter engagement opportunities.

A project with purpose.

Offering business solutions for non-profit organisations.

There were existing services to easily create a good looking website. Services to host an event and sell tickets. Another to allow people to raise money. Then perhaps something else to sell merchandise.

Non-profit organisations often use these separate services as they are cost effective. They cannot justify the cost of building a custom website with the functionality they require, when that money could go directly to their cause and make a real difference in peoples’ lives.

But for supporters, jumping between these platforms leaves them disorientated, and the organisation finds it hard to really establish their brand or keep track of their online community.

We wanted to give non-profit organisations the same attention that others usually offer only to high-paying businesses. Our goal was to make it easy for them to make more money, with lower cost.

The Evenico platform, partnered with the Daybreak template allowed us to offer complex functionality that was both time and cost effective.

We started by focusing on fundraising events, as that seemed to be a real pain-point when using disconnected services.

Over time Evenico grew, and continues to grow, with the focus of helping non-profit organisations bring their supporters together.

Designing for growth.

Creating for right now, while thinking for the future.

Our original product not only had to be usable, but also needed to have future growth in mind. I created a design system and user interface that could integrate new features easily, without need for a redesign.

I focused on consistency throughout the design to make it faster for our developers to build and expand, and easier for our users to adapt to new updates.

The solo designer.

Making big dreams happenwith a small team.

During my time working on Evenico, I was the only designer. This meant I had control over the design and direction of the platform, but I also had to manage many responsibilities.

I would write up the specifications for new features, communicating directly to our CEO to gather business requirements and client insights. To plan our updates and communicate the task to developers, I would create wireframes, and if necessary convert them into designs.

Working directly with our dedicated platform developers, I would ensure my designs are also achievable within our short timeframes. We discussed any issues that may arise and quickly worked together to find suitable solutions.

Once development was complete, I would help test new features and ensure both functionality and design meets our quality standards.
