Daybreak.

An efficient design process for non-profit websites.

Goal

Non-profit organisations usually just want their supporters to donate, fundraise, or register for events as easily and effortlessly as possible. There’s no reason they should spend big for a website just to try and reinvent the wheel.

We wanted to reduce their costs so they can maximise their fundraising and increase their positive impact in the world.

Answer

‘Daybreak’ is the behind-the-scenes name for our first Evenico website template.

It’s the front-end user interface and flexible design styles that allow us to build and update websites quickly and efficiently, with a user experience we know works.

We cut down the design and development time for each new project significantly, and can therefore provide a professional website for non-profit organisations at an affordable price.

UX that works.

Strengthening design through experience.

For years we had built many custom websites for non-profit organisations, so when we embarked on building Evenico, we already had an understanding about the functionality required by our clients.

We were able to use our previous experiences to guide design decisions for the front-end user interface, creating flows and processes we knew would work well.

Over time, as we review the data collected, and receive feedback from organisations and their supporters, we can improve each area of our template. All of our websites are then updated, so our clients can be confident that they are offering their users a reliable and effective experience.

Efficient design.

High quality websites with a rapid turn around.

Although the plan is to eventually allow organisations to build their own website through Evenico, currently we are still responsible for the design and development of all websites. But through using an efficient design process, we have cut timelines significantly, taking a project from just talk, through design approval, build, content creation and to live in just a week.

I have designed a UI kit that ensures the Daybreak template uses common styles throughout all elements, and have worked closely with the developers to ensure it’s built in such a way that a site could be completely re-styled by just changing a few variables.

We offer flexibility within the content by offering a library of commonly required panels, catering to the unique requirements of non-profit organisations. Despite having a very templated approach, the design still allows the individual brand visuals and voice to really shine.

50 sites & counting.

Crafted with love.

During my time working on Evenico, and the associated projects, I was the only designer. This meant every new website we built, I would design. Using my organised template files and efficient processes, I could design a new project quickly.

But each non-profit trusting us with their website, had a unique brand and message to convey. I tried to approach every project with a fresh perspective, finding ways to make them stand out a little, while considering their organisation’s main purpose and often having to treat their subject matter sensitively.
